Storm Cell by

Another view of the massive storm that passed over Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia. By the evil colour in the sky and the shafts of lightning that were shooting out of it someone somewhere was getting a battering, but fortunately all we got was a bit of wind and a short, sharp shower.

Taken from my balcony on the 33rd floor.

Canon EOS 550D. Canon EFs 18-55mmIS kit lens @ 18mm.

About Ann Van Breemen

I am an avid photographer of just about anything, although I’m not so good at moving objects. Anything faster than a snail leaves me for dead. (haha) I do prefer natural landscapes over urban ones but, really, nothing is safe from my lens. I also enjoy turning my failed images, and there are lots, into digital art.

    Stunning shape to that cloud.

  • Thank you Virginia. It was pretty amazing. It was moving fast too, so I had to shoot quickly. No time for a tripod today.:)

That’s one awesome sky,Ann,well taken too!!

  • Thanks Lance. Gave me an excuse to break out the camera again. It’s been so hot I haven’t taken any photos since we got back from the USA nearly three weeks ago. I think I was beginning to go through withdrawal.:)

That’s pretty amazing! Fabulous colours, ann!

  • Thanks Mel. Apparently there’s more on the way tomorrow, so hopefully I’ll get lucky again. I’m a pretty slack storm chaser though. They have to come to me ’cos I like to stay tucked up safe and sound inside.:)

I’m thinking, lets stand on the beach and get it coming over the hi-rises…… You have given me ideas with your Bird’s Eye view.

  • Cool. Sounds good. Glad to be able to help. You can stand on the beach. I’ll wave from behind the curtain.(lol)
