Canon 7D. Golden eagles are so much bigger than the other raptors in this central part of Wyoming that I always have to stop and marvel. There is a nest (read: huge) not far from this rocky outcrop and I suspect the golden eagle pair hunts here often. How kind of the moon, one day short of the lunar eclipse, to rise majestically behind Golden Eagle Rock. ISO400, f11, 1/400, focal length 365mm, RAW, ND grad applied in RAW, minor processing in CS5, sharpening with Photokit Sharpener, near Casper, Wyoming, USA. The three elements are amazing. The moon looks surreal.
Hi Isabela, Nice that you see the 3 elements; that’s what made me stop where I was; a friend later suggested it would be nice to have the moon behind the eagle :-). Guess I’ll try that angle the next time I get lucky enough to find the eagle.
