For a friend and neighbor who is celebrating his 99th year this year! He is truly an inspiration the way he tends to his huge garden of flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees every day! Canon 40D, Carennac, France, on the banks of the Dordogne River. Sadly, Louis passed away a few days before we were able to deliver the cards made from this photo of him; but his wife had tears in her eyes when we gave them to her.
Featured in Photography Challenge Group, March 2011, thank you so much on behalf of this fine gentleman and his wife!

Beautiful porttait AM, love the words behind it too :)
Hi Tai, thanks for the great praise, very nice compliment coming from you; as you can tell from my shots here, I rarely shoot/post people, but this was a special situation as I had been promising myself to print some cards for him and his wife. Your profile memories of the darkroom brought back such memories because my dad and I had one over our garage at home… magic, pure magic! AMR

Thanks so much, Rick; nice to get the positive feedback about people shots as I rarely do them/post them! AMR
Hi AMR, what lovely words … don’t ever undercut yourself or limit your possibilites, I LOVE this portrait!!! It;s not easy to capture the essence of a person as you did here. In my humble opinion portraits ought to tell a story, yours most certainly does. Don’t limit yourself …. take people. You shine :)
Hi Tainia, thank you so much for your message! I love your profile statement about loving faces!! AMR
