This famous and ancient tree is off the road, and you have to know how to find it out on the sage flats of Grand Teton National Park; it is such a venerable old soul, it’s worth making the trek. Canon 10D, 1/8, f37, borrowed tripod; near Moose, Wyoming, USA. Views 664 and Faves 5 as of 10 February 2012, thanks for stopping by! Is drooling allowed? This is breathtaking. Thanks for making me smile with your lovely compsition. Morning or evening shot? How do I find this vantage point? Geekiest of Whalegeeks
Morning shot, and thank you for the glowing remarks! It’s hard to describe how to find it, but it’s on the inner loop of Grand Teton National Park; I know where to pull off from having been taken there by other photographers in the area, but I’ll see if I can come up with something better than that!
Now this is ripper, stunner, and just a perfect landscape. Don’t recall seeing the tree many years ago, but you captured it and the jagged Teton Range just beautifully. I’m drooling, too. Well done!
Love your comment, Jan, thanks so much!

Humm.. do you take death canyon trail to get to this? Whatever it is beautiful!! My favorite place in the whole world!!
Hi Charlotte, it’s out in the sage, and there’s no parking nearby, so I think most people go with someone else the first time; glad you like it!
