Buck, Afternoon Light in Late Fall
The mule deer congregate in our area for the rut as we are on a sparsely populated butte. The afternoon light provides a rich frame to set off their stunning strength and beauty, and the fading fall colors provide a soft counterpoint. Canon 40D, 100-400 IS lens, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, f5.6, 1/250, focal length 400mm.

Hi Arla, How nice to have you drop in… I was savoring/savouring your Quarry Truck just a minute ago, no kidding!!! Glad you like this handsome guy too; he was so calm as a I let him know I was there and slowly walked toward him; maybe he was exhausted from chasing does. A treat for me for sure.
Arla M. Ruggles
Just have to ask: Why is this NOT in Antlers, Racks, and Other Horned Animals

Great capture!!!! Please consider Animal Photography for this wonderful capture.
A.M. Ruttle replied
Hi Ruth, you are so kind to stop in and suggest the group! I have just joined! Your Waiting For Her Master is stunning!!! How would you describe that coloration? Can’t quite tell; it’s not a buckskin, is it a light roan?
Ruth Lambert
I’m not quite certain on the Waiting for her Master shot…she had all the appearances of a Palomino but the dark mane suggests another blood line there as well. The afternoon sunlight was so perfect for this capture, it actually gave her color tones a bit different shade of tan. She was just beautiful in whatever her color might be!! :)
Thank you for viewing and also for joining us in the group!!
