Autumn yellow everywhere by Ann Reece

On the Jeep tour – the higher that we went the more saturated the yellow colors were in the Aspens. Even the water in the streams was very yellow, I don’t know if it was pollen or minerals that turned the water this color.

This photo is taken outside of Ouray, Colorado, along the million dollar highway in the USA.

Lovely view, Ann. I haven’t seen water this color outside Yellowstone.

  • I thought the same thing when I saw this yellow water. I’m pretty sure that the color is coming out of the ground from the minerals, this area is rich in minerals of all kinds. Thanks for the comment : )

It looks as though the colour has run down off the rocks to tint the water. Very lovely and interesting photo!

Hi Ann,..beautiful image,..I may be wrong,But I think it`s minerals on the ground that turn the water that color,..But I could be wrong,..Hope someone lets us know for sure,.

  • I agree with you John, I believe the yellow is from the underground minerals. That area is rich in all kinds of minerals. Thanks for the comment and fav : )
