In my backyard perched, on a branch, the dove seems to be keeping an eye on me. When I aimed the camera towards it the dove moved a bit and actually posed for me. When I lowered my camera, the dove flew off.

What a great starting shot Ann!! This is great. The focus is perfect. I am so glad you are here!!!
Thanks for the compliment on my photo Regenia! I owe a lot of taking this photo to you, you are a great teacher. I am glad that I am here among my friends that left JPG and I look forward to meeting new photo friends!!!
Thanks for the comment Bradley, we have a lot of the doves around here that I get to enjoy. I love their call and their beauty.
Such a lovely shot of this beautiful dove! It looks almost like the Western whitewing doves that visit us each year.
Judy, Thank you for identifying this Dove. I have trouble sometimes identifying birds from the books, they don’t always look the same as the bird, but in this case, the white edge on the wings helps to identify it.
Hey, welcome..I only just found you..this is a super shot…
Thanks Eithne! I am so glad to find so many JPG friends on Redbubble now!!!
Lovely Ann. This is the first time I have seen this dove with those beautiful wing edges. Instant FAV. An awesome capture. Barb
Thank you for the comment. This was my first photo using my new 70-300 lens on the 300 setting.
We have a pair of doves tending a nest in the eaves of our roof over our sun porch with 4 eggs in it. I can’t wait for them to hatch. We have some good close-ups of the eggs and doves but, the background is lousy. This is a wonderful shot.C.
I hope that your baby doves make it. We have had them nest in a hanging basket by our back door and the babies never made it, some critter got to them and killed them. It’s so sad. I took that basket down and hope that the doves find a safer place to hatch their babies.
