Today is a very sad day in the Setter World. Abbott (BIS, Multi BISS, Ch Windrose
Who’s On First) Phantom’s doggy Daddy went to Rainbow Bridge. We all morn Loma’s loss with her. Although Loma had many champions Abbott held a special place in her heart, as well as she did in his. My heart is just breaking but he lives on in the many puppies he sired. Phantom proudly sports the white “blaze” he aquired through Abbott’s line. There is another beautiful star in the heavens tonight by the name of ….Abba Dabba Do.
May the Shamrocks fall softly………………….

So sorry. My soft-coated wheaten terrier Rufus W. McCool left us a month ago. I know there’s a star in heaven for him too.

I’m so sorry to hear, Ann. Please pass my heartfelt condolences on to Loma. We lost our little Princess Sassy the end of April, and I still miss her so!

OH NO ANN
I know it is hard but I always cope by remembering and celebrating all my days on earth with all my loving animals. God gave me a special heart to care for my treasured pets.

So sorry, it is heartbreaking to lose a beloved companion…. "Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened.” We lost Snickers last year, still miss him so… just posted a photo yesterday in memory of him.

Ann,
Your words touched me on the deepest level. Sadly, our beautiful Mikey passed
away and now is in another realm. We miss him and Molly has found another
2 year old setter, Curly to visit who unfortunately has seizures. Mikey passed
away at 24 years old and would have gone sooner without his beloved Molly
who nursed him as long as possible until it was time to stop the suffering
last month. A loss in our family is profoundly painful and I ask myself
when one of my many dogs die if I can endure another loss. The question
is, is it better to love and lose or never love at all? Of course, the pain
is like labor for a child. The pain may be intolerable, but the rewards
are well worth it. I posted a photo of Molly who continues to wait for
him confused by his absence. He was her only partner for the six
years she has lived with us. I have great pet insurance 24 pet watch
that insures senior dogs as well as younger dogs and it is well
worth it considering the vet bills. We rescued an 9 month old
lab mix from the pound who was a very sick young boy and without
pet insurance, we paid over one thousand dollars to heal the
many problems he encountered in a kill shelter. Thankfully,
we found him a great home with a man who recently lost
his dog and RJ has filled a void for him. Luckily he has
a large home close to us and a big yard for Molly
and RJ to play. The fact that he has a personal chef
adds to a great package that I would want if he
would adopt me and Charlie. I was thinking of adding
a support group for those who lose their cherished
animals to the group I host, the healing journey."
I posted a photo and narrative, “Lifetimes” that
includes the books I have read and shared with
my friends and clients to cope with the pain
of loss. The comments you received are
wonderful and I hope it eases you pain about
Loma!
