A kelpie holding her sheep
dog, shed, sheep, shearing, kelpie
This is lovely. Love the light
Thanks Tamara, everything seemed to fall into place – the boss had taken it upon himself to add light by turning on a one of those work flood lights. I thought it would be too artificial but it seems to have added an extra feel to it. Then the dog and the sheep had a 5 minute standoff right in front of me.
What a great shot it looks like the dog knows what he’s doing, that for sure
Great capture!! Please consider putting this into the new Even-Toed Ungulates group.
Thanks, have done so.
These dogs are so amazing. I love to watch specials on tv about them and how they are trained up. This is a wonderful capture
Thanks, I can watch them for hours and love trying to capture the mood.
That is control!and the exuberance of the dog over the success of it is just radiating and almost palpable! When a Kelpie stares you down it is a scary thing – owners have to learn how to stare them down or they have no hope of control!a Brilliant Capture Annie! ☼(Now teach my dogs how to do this! lol)Chookas! ♥
It was a great display as they just stood there for so long without the dog upsetting or stressing the sheep but still in control. A good working dog will train you before you train it, if you are not careful!
Excellent shot Ann, my pups do this from 8 weeks or so. You know a good dog if they start this early…
We would love to invite you to add this beautiful artwork and join us at Australian Working Dog group
