Someone bought this framed watercolour from me yesterday, the original version. It was for his wife on their 50th wedding anniversary. It was to be a surprise. Lucky lady, not necessarily to have my painting, you understand, but to have someone so thoughtful for a husband.
I like the softness that you get from the photo shop treatment and for cards and prints that’s often a bonus.
Lovely work Ann I love the combinattion of Purple and Green Munsell had it right about compliments ! Love it The enhancement with digital effects works realy well -but the painting has to be worth the effects in the first place -and this definately is Happy Painting Bev
Ha! How did I get here without knowing about Munsell? But I did know about complementaries. :) Well I just take the ideas from good old mother nature…the purple against the grey green of the iris foliage…love it when they appear every year! Thanks Bev!
Well, I agree, what a nice husband. But he chose well, this is so beautiful! I love the play of light and shade!
It was a good story. He was standing in front of me in the queue at the garden centre with one of my cards that he’d chosen in his hand..I introduced myself, said I painted that! He subsequently went on my website and the rest is history! Thank you for your nice comment, Fran!
