Snowy hawthorn by Ann Mortimer

Snowy hawthorn by

Watercolour with inks 20cmx20cm Artsist’s watercolours and acrylic inks on Arches 140lb cold pressed paper.

I masked out the scatterings of snow on the berries and leaves, then laid a loose wash over the whole. The twig shapes are acrylic ink dropped in while the background was slightly damp. Then I painted the leaves etc. dark against light.
