Watercolour. W and N Artists watercolours on 140lb cold press paper.

Quintessential sign of Spring when the narcissi show their faces combining their pristine white petals with their bright orange centres. I love the way the sunlight shines through their petals.
I made this painting a year or two ago

Winner of the Painter’s Universe “Flowering Fields Challenge” August 2011. Thanks to Mary Sedici for setting it up!

Spring has sprung! Wonderful backdrop to the flowers – nice depth of field.

  • Marsha, thank you! It’s scary for me doing real backgrounds like this…glad you think there’s a sense of depth!

YIKES, Ann…so stunning! love the softness of the narcissi in contrast to the sharpness of your branchie tree!! fence, field and hills in the background…this is possibly my favorite yet! (i think i say that every time)…congratulations…can’t stop looking!

  • Oh thanks Sally! Glad you like the branching tree. Trees seem to have elbows and knees, which are often quite knobbly!
