Tulips and a Stained Glass Window

Ann Mortimer

Nottingham, United Kingdom

Artist's Description

Watercolour and acrylic ink 19×28cm

I set a vase of tulips against our 1930’s stained glass windows. I love the stained glass look. I did the outlines and lead on the glass with acrylic ink mixed with the watercolours. The texture on the blue glass was achieved with salt crystals dropped into the wet wash.

The painting was based on this window from our house.
