They’re all but gone now for another year, but here’s another last look at the Autumn colours that have been so vibrant this year. I saw this scene in the New Forest in Hampshire a year or two ago when there had been a lot of rain and flooding and this quiet stream had been a raging torrent for a while. There was evidence of fallen trees and debris and the banks undermined and washed away.
But this is a natural protected woodland and debris is left to rot down and provide habitats for woodland creatures.
