Watercolour. 36×25cm W and N artist’s on Saunders Waterford 140not. These clematis grow over my studio wall in early Spring. I like their dark greeny crimson foliage which contrasts with the pink blooms. Plenty of opportunity for finding negative shapes in the background. This is a step by step demo in my blog. Look in March/April 2010

I’m a watercolour artist and art tutor from Nottingham, UK. I love painting flowers particularly and sharing techniques with others as I really rate this wonderful medium. I have written two watercolour tips and techniques books which demonstrate the way I like to use watercolour.
