Coded message

When the first drops came
- an erratic morse code
dripping, tapping messages
on the canopy overhead
I imagine your words
catching in my hair
as silver skies open
pouring tears of rain
falling in abundance
bringing affirmation
that you are still there
a tangible reminder
that I am still here
a confirmation
that we still need
a declaration
that we still want
a memory
of all what was
a promise
of all that still could be
…still should be

While cold drops splatter
roam in random patterns
criss-crossing my skin
splashing into sparkling
puddles at my feet
I feel forsaken, alone
needing to hear you
I listen for your
soothing whispers
mere wishes whirling
in gusts of wind
I steal quiet comfort
in the satisfying
warmth of our deep
mutual understanding
quickening my pace
heading home
wanting to dive into
my ocean of emotions
slowly drown in
the depths
that is ours

Recently Michel (Farfarm ) challenged me to put some words to a few of his images.

I just called

This is so lovely Anni, poetry in motion as the words float and flow along so smoothly. i love the imagery of the gentle fallling rain, the flow of thoughts, emotions, feelings spilling forth, it is so beautifully expressed, the longing for whispers in the wind. Mmmmm….lovely work. :-) xxx
