As some guessed, this is indeed Lady’s friendly greeting. :) Many suck their hands into their sleeves when she greets them though, imagine that! ;)
HOWEVER, despite the fact that she’s one of the friendliest, snuggliest dogs I know, this Montana dog has rescued ‘her boy (my nephew)’ from a bear encounter and her own pup from the mouth of a mountain lion (at which my sister-in-law and two nephews were present – you can imagine this event caused some bad dreams and fear for a while!). Though she just wants some petting in this picture, I sure wouldn’t be one to mess with any of the people (or animals!) she loves!
update January 2010 I’m sad to report news from Montana – Lady was hit by a car and killed almost immediately. :( She has smiled her last smile. She will be greatly, greatly missed. :(
Looks like he goes to the dentist, beautiful teeth. I think he is smiling, the eyes are kind looking. Usually when they are mad, the mouth is open like they are going to bite. Such a pretty dog.
