Hi, I am Annie Maree,
self confessed hermit…I mean artist , lover of portraiture who could sit for days and weeks pondering, creating, with my brushes and paints on my latest painting.

It is something crazy,

as an artist I become so centered in on painting a likeness in portraits. I don’t know why but it drives me like a secret challenge to conquer. It is never ending there is always something on my easel that captures my attention , like when I am about to do the housework , and has me sit for hours painting till I am satisfied….

How I love a rainy day, lol…... when the kids are at school, to sit , listen to some great music, and paint!!!

There is something beautiful about the ability to create, I always connect with my faith in God when I am painting. We were fashioned in His image, and created by His master creater hands! How must have it been for Him to fashion each one of us in our mothers womb, knowing what we were going to look like, our faces our eyes, each feature totally different from any one else.

For me to paint as I see , and create in my own understanding a face before me is a wonderful beautiful experience.

Lately I have been painting in oils , enjoying the smooth buttery consistency of paint which is beautiful for painting skin tones.

I also enjoy pastels, watercolours, charcoal and acrylic. Trying out different mediums as it is just so much fun, and I am hopeless in an art store …

One of these days I might just discover where I am with my artwork, what direction I am headed and all those things, but for now, I am letting this crazy obsession with painting portraits lead me on a journey which is excitiing and full of learning. There are so many ideas in my head ,of journeys ahead I would like my artwork to take me, but I believe my destiny is in the Master Creators hands, and I am letting Him have the reigns on my life to lead me where ever He desires this beautiful passion of painting leads me.
