“Poetry … you’r joking”
The girls were aghast. They were being coerced into reading …ginny spat out the word ‘poetry…yukkk’
You see, they all loved to paint or sculpt, act or dance. Thespians all but not into the classics they preferred off the wall art and they knew well how to stretch the mundane into the ridiculous.
They had been raised on the so called great poets and though those past masters have their followers they are not the choice of many young folk and so the dislike extends to all poetry
The young tutor stood his ground and raised his voice to fill the small rehearsal room. He caught their attention with the first line. ‘he lay replete sated naked on her bed’ by the end there was silence. And this does not even rhyme’he said. They were hooked.
