Yesterday we were out for a drive in Port Chalmers and parked the car near to the Scot Memorial when a clucking band of hens surrounded the car. They were real beauties and they didn’t seem to mind me taking the photo opportunity.
This black hen, (perhaps someone can enlighten me about the breed) was a real beauty and very tame. I think she is showing me her best side. :)
Hee hee, such a look she’s giving you Anni… what a beauty, great shot! xx :)
Hi Cianna, they were such a treat to see. If only we had more garden I’d have them. I always buy the free range eggs but it would be great to have our own. Thank you xox :) Anni
haha Love ooh that suspicious look .. like hope you haven’t an axe! we always had chooks , Dad used to cut their heads off. guess when they stopped laying …yuck, we can’t have them now where we live , we have hungry pythons and goannas wandering around… have to have a very secure pen makes it too much work…

She is a real beauty, she has amazing black plumage Anni. Lovely capture, not sure what breed she is though.
Hi Andrea, I never new hen’s eyes looked so much like human ones, it is quite uncanny. Thanks for your comment. ~ Anni :)
