As I am going through a cat painting phase, I’d thought I’ll post this one. It is one of my early cats painted some time ago. First of all I cut a 1 inch piece of pine wood out with my jigsaw, sanded it and then painted this image. I was going to make a doorstop with it. Some how it never made life as a doorstop and sits on the window sill instead. :) ~ Anni
Thanks Blossom, I am working on another cat inspired painting at the moment…it will be called Alfresco Cats, hopefully post it nextweek. Cheers ~ Anni :)
Hi Ginger, I used to read my children a lovely story entitled ‘The Patchwork Cat’ it had adorable illustrations by an artist called Nicola Bayley. Thanks for looking in :) ~ Anni
Beautiful Anni and what great idea- I would love a puss like this turned into something- A clock perhaps- love the colours on this one xxxxxx
Anita I made a clock…no cat on it…but it had a cow on top of it and it was jumping over a moon face (just like the nursery rhyme). It was all made from paper mache (although it didn’t look like it, the time it was finished. It’s a great way to recycle paper. Glad you like puss :)) xxxxx
Wow Annie, you actually cut this out i’m scared of those things… and then painted it. I love her…a befitting place for her on the window sill – much better than a doorstop i’d say.
Hi Patricia, Yes I used to be quite handy with the jigsaw and cut out over 600 cats which I sold to local shops. They were more Egyptian in style. Yes, this one is quite at home on my kitchen window sill now. Thanks :) ~ Anni
