I like the designs of the Art Deco era and was inspired to produce a painting featuring 1920’s fashion. There is also a slight influence of the 1930’s British ceramic artist Clarice Cliff…I refer to the tree shape. I had to think very carefully when I painted snowflakes…because I was scared stiff I would ruin it with big white blobs. I suppose we all learn something from ecah picture we paint.

What? You like Art Deco, too? Me TOO!!! I think we lived during that time…I might’ve danced with you ‘then’. LOL…I love this…I have a fashion friend who would appreciate. It’s in my faves to buy…later. :)

  • Thanks Michael. I am enjoying watching some DVD’s of Hercule Poirot at the moment, they are filmed with the most marvellous Art Deco sets. The era has a wealth of romance and beauty. The down side…the flat roofs of Art Deco houses. I think flat roofs should be avoided, as from my experience they cause nothing but problems.

    I really love her dress…nice!

  • Thank you Sarah. As a teenager I used to love sketching new outfits and dreamt of being a fashion designer. The art deco period interests me, the architecture, furniture and clothes. I wanted to incorporate this interest in a painting.Thank you for looking at my work and commenting :) ~ Anni
