You have done very well by Gustav Klimt, he is my one time biggest favorite artist…so I like your interpretation of his “The Bride” which portrays the intertwined group of slumbering beauties which he portrays in many of his paintings. Good job.

Hi BillyLee, I make a point of studying a new artist now and the…I really mean a Master artist. It is fascinating to read about their lives, struggles, influences etc… and helps me to understand their paintings a little more. Some of course I have a particular liking for, others not so much. We discover new things by doing too, making mistakes which can some times turn out to be beneficial when we experiment with art.

AHHHH. A touch of Klimt! Beautiful work, lovely colours. I am firmly of the belief that we should
all have a Go at the oldies and use them as much as possible in our own work. I entirely agree that this is the way we discover new things about our own art. I love Klimt and Gauguin is
also a favourite and his work inspires me every time I pick up a brush! More of the same Anni!

Hi Anni, I want to try my hand at a Klimt, but am too scared to start. I will one day. I think its a great way to learn to paint and develop a style. I like to imitate Matisse I think even more. I should try my hand at a Matisse and post it, get you to critique it for me. What size is this painting? Billy

a woman after my own heart!! I am a mad klimt fan, and have been lucky enough to have been asked to re create and commission some of his works with my own touches. This piece is just beautiful! I am in the process of working on a piece with his work ’ goldfish’ as the inspiration so will post it as soon as its done and see what you think xx

The only thing I can say is ‘wow’. this has a very klimt feel to it but with a slightly more modern twist. I only wish I’d thought of it first! teheeee.

Hello Anni! What a fabulous portfolio you have! There are many treasures there. I like this Klimt inspired painting especially. The detail of the patterning must have taken you a long time. I can see from this painting what a patient and disicplined painter you are. (Unlike me!!!!) Brilliant artwork!

I saw a “Star Trek” episode that had the same title. Is the title from something mythological?

Hi Steven, ‘Menage’ comes from the french and means ‘a social unit/household/living together’ and ‘trois’ is also from the french and means ‘three’. It can also mean an arrangement by which a married couple and the lover of one of them live together. Depends what spin you wish to put on it. ;)

I really love the shapes, colors, basic style of this. Not keen on the subject!

I did use this as the inspiration for creating a piece of my own. Was trying to capture the same basic style – definitely did not happen, but I’m sure, if and when I upload it/ you view it, you will be able to see that it was tried.

Gustav Klimt would have been happy with this,I feel sure what a beautiful picture ans so detailed in its composition Excellent.
