Anni Morris
Thanks so much for your comments, I really appreciate it. I used a huge brush for this and just worked very quickly…not the normal way I work. I textured the canvas with tissue paper and PVA glue and used acylic paints. The entire canvas was finished off with a matt varnish. Cheers ~ Anni :)

This is a powerful work of art. Great fluidity and lovely colors. Very well done! This is another favorite of mine.
Anni Morris replied
Hi Wildwings, this is a different style from a lot of my work. I used a large brush and worked quickly, hopefully capturing some of her energy in it. Thanks for your kind comment.
Victoria Sheldon
This is fabulous Anni. You have captured the emotion of the singer here. Your texture is outstanding. Wonderful!
Anni Morris replied
Hi emmy, well dear Billie did experience so much emotional trauma in her life…and from a young age…I was attempting to try and get feeling in this. The texture is achieved by tissue paper and pva glue…giving the smooth canvas some body underneath. Thanks.

Hello Anni once- welsh -from -the -concertina houses!!! How are you? I love this portrait of Lady Day. You have managed to capture her strengths (her music ) and her vulnerablitiy, an addicted personality that finally helped to destroy her. Beautifully bold and dynamic! Love it!
