Tullulah and Tulips
About a month ago I was bought some beautiful tulips. I sketched them in pencil hoping I could use them in a later painting, here they are. Of course, there had to be a cat too, this one is called Tulalah. She is shy and likes to hide, she loves only the best things in life, so has her favourite Clarice Cliff pottery on show.
Acrylic on boxed canvas

Ah, this is so playful and pleasing to view, Anni. Love the flat shapes and patterns. Very effective. And those eyes. . .perfecto! Cheers! TPS

It’s beautiful Anni… I love the velvety red of the tulips, the shining pottery patterns, and of course the cat’s pink nose and bright eyes! xx “)
Anni Morris replied
Hi Cianna, I rarely paint flowers myself…but dearly love them. My mum used to paint nothing but flowers (I would watch her when I was tiny). Patterns of pottery, carpets, fabric, wallpapers always attract my eyes. Fun to incorporate them here. Thanks so much for popping in ~ hugs Anni :) xxx

Hi TPS :) Thanks for viewing this, glad you like it. Clarice Cliff was a British ceramics designer who produced some beautiful pottery in the 1930’s, I couldn’t resist including some in this painting ~ Best regards Anni

Annie… some people are cat lovers and others are dog lovers. i happen to be a dog lover (i am allergic to cats) but after seeing all your cat paintings I am jealous and rethinking maybe i should be a cat lover … but then again with all the sneezing that would cause….I wouldn’t be able to paint any way :( You do it soooooo well!
Anni Morris replied 20 days ago
Hi Nancy, what a sweet comment ;) If I had an allergy to them, I’ll most prob have a dog.Cats are quite self sufficient and less of a tie, but dogs are loyal. There is such a range of personalities too, so difficult to generalise. Nice to have an animal around anyway. ~ oxo
