Wood Pigeons (Kerueru)
These are my very stylised Wood Pigeons in the moonlight. I used a restricted palette of blue green, white and black for this picture.
New Zealand Wood Pigeons are beautiful birds. They can often be seen in pairs in native trees. They like to feast on the seeds of Laburnum tree in the garden.
Wood Pigeons (Kerueru) belongs to the following groups:

Aw this makes me homesick! Wood pigeons make such a noise when they fly, I remember them…

Thanks for your comments. Yes Wood Pigeons are beautiful birds, quite a few live around me. Only last week one huge, plump one was in the garden wrenching the ripe plums off the tree. It was so plump and heavy it was weighing down the branch considerably. When they fly overhead they make the most amazing whooshing sound.
