How gorgeous is this…this is going to make a wonderful card for the discerning cat lover.
Who wouldn’t want to kiss this gorgeous fellow… and who needs miseltoe as an excuse!
I am loving your cat series Anni.
PS… my two cats love the Chrissie Tree too!
Buffy particularly loves to play in all the tinsel before it goes on the tree… last year even at his age of 15 he had himself a play!

Hi Patricia, Thanks for your comments. Yes, I must dry some catnip from the garden and make a little mouse for Sam for Christmas :) I’m sure Buffy will have a few goodies in his stocking this year ;) x

  • Anni Morris replied

I have never seen misteltoe for sale in New Zealand Paul…not sure if it grows here? It is a parasitic plant isn’t it ?...that grows on host trees…I have holly in the garden :) Thank you for your comment~ Anni :)

Mistletoe is the common name for a group of hemi-parasitic plants in the order Santalales that grow attached to and within the branches of a tree or shrub. A broad array of animals depend on mistletoe for food, consuming the leaves and young shoots, transferring pollen between plants, and dispersing the sticky seeds, Most mistletoe seeds are spread by birds, such as the Mistle Thrush in Europe, The seeds are excreted in their droppings and stick to twigs, or more commonly the bird grips the fruit in its bill, squeezes the sticky coated seed out to the side, and then wipes its bill clean on a suitable branch. The seeds are coated with a sticky material called viscin, which hardens and attaches the seed firmly to its future host.
According to a custom of Christmas cheer, any two people who meet under a hanging of mistletoe are obliged to kiss. The custom is Scandinavian in origin.
    Here endeth the lesson :0)

Another lovely one Anni. Wish my cat was as willing to get kisses. He usually runs and hides when I approach coz he knows he’s about to be cuddled within an inch of his life, hehehe. Lovely work :)

Beautiful Anni! are you using you Acrylic like watercolor? with lots of water? well done

  • Anni Morris replied

Hi susanne, yes I used acrylics…I find that I often get that watercolour feel with them. Sometimes I want a different feel to a painting and apply several thicker layers and then it takes on a completely different character. Thanks for looking ~ Anni :)
