“Studying my MCA via distance has not been easy. The limited opportunities for interactions with peers and the isolation of being on your own can be quite daunting at times. I have overcome these challenges with the encouragement and support from my husband, friends, and the local arts community whom have helped me to continue and achieve my goals. I have had to remain self-motivated, keep a positive frame of mind and be independent in my approach to study and research.
There were many reasons behind my decision to study externally via distance, family and work commitments as a Marriage Celebrant. I desperately wanted to be close to my family and friends and still be part of the local community in Mackay. However, the most influential factor behind my decision to study externally was my desire not to have to relocate from the Mackay region.
