A soul that fell into a vortex
A heart that no longer beats
Skin that no longer fits
Emptiness defeats
Taking all your power
Throwing you in despair
Emptiness will overtake you
You will feel nowhere
Emptiness will surround you
In a room with a crowd
You shall no longer hear
Even if it gets loud
You will ignore everyone
And no longer want to hear
Praying that the end
Is closing in so near
Emptiness surrounds
When you’ve loved and lost
Emptiness surrounds
That is what love has cost
Sad and lonely is the heart
That never feels
It will throw you to your knees
Emptiness will make you kneel
Emptiness is a condition
Of the heart and soul
It can happen to the young
And often to the old
It surrounds your being
Leaves you in a place so dark
Takes you to places
Best not to embark
Emptiness, Emptiness, Emptiness
What an empty word
So sad for those who feel it
And even those who heard
What Emptiness can do
To make you feel so down
When you can’t open your eyes
To see the truth
