We are about to embark on yet another ‘tree-change’ after just under one year here on the Central Coast, living close to the wonderful waterways, the ocean and the beautiful bush. Whilst we have enjoyed those aspects very much, finding employment and a house to buy have eluded us totally and we have also realised that it is just too busy and overcrowded up here for us country folk!!!
So, we went in search of cheaper properties and found something to not only live in but something that would give us an income as well… we have bought a little cottage in Eungai Creek# , a tiny rural village that has a Post Office (a working business) and a General Store (to be started up again) attached at the front! Where… I hear you say?! Well, it’s about halfway between Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour, and 15 minutes from Macksville on the Mid North Coast, 2 kms off the Pacific Highway! It will be a challenge but lots of fun, I’m sure… and hard work too! It takes a long time to get the license from Australia Post, the training, interviews etc etc! We hope to be moved in by the end of January, so I promise to pop in now and then and upload the odd photo when time permits!
Have a wonderful, peaceful and safe Christmas and New Year – may 2011 be all that you could wish for and more. :)
