Which budget macro lens? Sigma or Tamron?
I am trying to decide which macro lens to buy for my Sony A200 and am tossing up between the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 and the Sigma 50mm f/2.8. Both are budget lenses than the higher end Sony lenses, but get good reviews.
I’d love to hear any feedback and comments, criticisms – whatever! I have seen the Tamron for $380.00 free postage and the Sigma for $320.00 also with free postage.
Thanks …
A new 'adventure' for us in 2011!
We are about to embark on yet another ‘tree-change’ after just under one year here on the Central Coast, living close to the wonderful waterways, the ocean and the beautiful bush. Whilst we have enjoyed those aspects very much, finding employment and a house to buy have eluded us totally and we have also realised that it is just too busy and overcrowded up here for us country folk!!!
…RB bubble site spam - anyone else?
Hi
I have in the last 24 hours had 3 spam emails in my gmail inbox that have come through Red Bubble via my Bubblesite, but I am not sure why or how I can stop them. They are not the standard type of spam, but a whole lot of gobbledygook scrambled letters that make absolutely NO sense! Like this:

Minolta 500mm f8 Reflex Lens - any tips?
A good friend of ours has just given me all his old Minolta gear including 3 old SLR bodies and various lenses, including the magnificent 500mm Reflex lens and a 2X Teleconverter! Pretty chuffed! Now I have to learn how to get the best from the Reflex – I believe using an ISO of 200 or 400 and shutter speed of around 1/500 will get me the best shots. Any other suggestions?
I hope to get a c…
Tripod suggestions please. :)
I’ve just sold my old Velbon tripod as it was just too heavy for me, so am now looking for something to replace it – lightweight and simple to use! Anyone have any suggestions, please? My camera is a Sony a200 and I have a variety of lenses, nothing too large or heavy!
Many thanks!

"Blue Skies" Book Cover - and a GREAT read!
I have just finished reading my FREE copy from Allan & Unwin of Blue Skies for which I supplied the cover photograph – Misty Morning Countryside This is a great read for anyone who enjoys a bit of intrigue, love, drama and a good ending! I think I even enjoyed it more than Fleur’s debut novel, Red Dust, but both are enjoyable reading, set against the Aussie outback. :o)
Cards & Postcard Quality
I have just received a large order of both cards (4×6) and postcards on the new paper card not the old photographic quality card.
I am very disappointed – the card is quite thin, the colours and images are not sharp and clear, some cards have been cropped poorly and several have been folded in such a way that a thin white line appears at the top of the folded edge. I have already conta…
