I am an amateur photographer, enjoying the learning process and getting to know my camera and lenses! I enjoy taking photos of almost anything, mostly outdoors in the garden, the great Aussie bush, the beach – anywhere! I especially enjoy the Australian bush and bush-walking along with 4WD trips into the bush with my husband. There are photo opportunities everywhere, if you just look!
I started experimenting with digital photography around 2004 using a 4MP Canon Powershot A85 camera. I am now wanting to do more with my photography and have ventured into the world of DSLR’s! I recently purchased a Sony Alpha A200 DSLR and am thoroughly enjoying learning all about SLR photography! As I am a bit of a ‘purist’ who believes the artist is me and not my camera or an editing program, you will find that most of my artwork is as the camera sees it with little or no editing other than cropping, colour and straightening. Purely a personal choice! And because I am too impatient to learn PS!!! :o) I tend to use Picasa3 if I do any editing and then I will usually mention it in the text box with the artwork.
April 2009: I have just bought a compact 8.1MP Panasonic Lumix LS80 camera to take with me on my adventure across Australia in May/June as a ‘back-up’ to my DSLR Sony A200. It is a basic compact digital camera, but I’m very happy with it so far!
