My One and Only… Sunflower 2013
This year my plantings of sunflowers were eaten by ground hogs sadly before they could get even 3 inches tall. So I grew a few inside and transplanted them close to the house in September and prayed for them to grow. This one was my one and only yellow prize and gift from God. It’s a little one but beautiful. I painted it in acrylic paint on stretched canvas 9×12”.
This painting & poem is dedicated to my wonderful, sweet husband, my one and only love.
A Poem by William Congreve To Arabella
In the midst of crowds I remain in solitude. Nothing but you can lay hold my mind, and that can lay hold of nothing but you. I appear transported to some foreign dessert with you….where abundantly supplied with everything… I might live out an age of uninterrupted ecstasy…the charms of all the world appear to be translated to thee.
Hosea 14:9 Who is wise? Let them realize these things. Who is discerning? Let them understand.
The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them..
Psalm 37:3 3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
