The Hound of the Baskervilles by

The Hound of the Baskervilles
This the deadly hound that haunted a small town in Devon near London and was taken out by the help of Sherlock Holmes, a story from one the famous mystery novels by A. Conan Doyle’s . Fun book to read and many versions on film since 1939.

1 Peter 5:8 NIV
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour
Ephesians 6:10-18 The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Painted in watercolor on watercolour paper 9×12”.

Things I love: God, His Son Jesus Christ, My husband, my children,my dog, the word of God and his people. I enjoy writing about the Bible as well as reading it, painting, cooking and enjoying life. I am thankful God has smiled on me and has been gracious to me.
God sent his son so I could be saved, and forgiven. I was not worthy yet Jesus Christ died for my sins. He enabled me to receive power from on high. I am and will be eternally grateful.

You really captured the fierceness of the hound. I think more than ever we have to use all the protection God provides us.

  • Yes, we certainly do and that is what the word of God is about. Thanks be to God through Christ who sent us the Holy Spirit and power. So now we are not left defenseless.
I am thinking of getting myself a t-shirt of this and wearing it when I walk the dog. ☺ Thanks so much! ♥

  • I enjoyed the book. Now they have a few fairly new modern TV shows about Sherlock Holmes. One out of England which is really good and the one done in NY is OK as well. Lots of fun. Thanks.☺
