This is a postcard sent to my Grandmother from my Grandfather when he was away during the first world war, its not a very good scan as the card is a little tatty but the words (written in pencil) are still visible on the other side, brings back lost of memories, Dedicated to all who lost their lives in the two world wars, my Grandfather was lucky, he returned home after the war,
Roses are shining in Picardy, In the hush of the silver dew, Roses are flow’ring in Picardy, But there’s never a rose like you! And the roses will die with the summertime, And our roads may be far apart, But there’s one rose that dies not in Picardy, ’Tis the rose that I keep in my heart

lovely Ann, glad your Grandfather survived xx
Wonderful work Ann:-)
Beautiful words on this beautiful card.
The nostalgic effects of time and the scan convey the mood better than adding digital textures.
