pieta for dead dreams by

a small work on paper – A4 size
mainly acrylic with ink …

… I have been to less happy ‘places’ in my mind lately .. and the ‘idea of a pieta’ came again …… this is a small personal work about looking inwards trying to see the bigger picture … my mind always circles in the realms of some sort of baroque pathos and I stopped stopping myself expressing it – I accept that that’s where my roots are … I find the traditional Pieta a most wonderful visual expression of extreme grief and letting go … and so as I meditate on the Biblical story … I try to find my own ways of letting go of things very dear to me no matter how much it hurts, no matter how much embarrassing and inconvenient …. it’s of course impossible to see it in the very moment but the story does not end here ….. in our life we constantly go through stages of letting go of all kinds of ambitions, expectations, dreams, wishes, ways of thinking …. we let go of them sometimes so painfully – almost as if they are our own flesh and blood ….. and since letting go is the only way left – now and then there is the “work” of actual being in that ‘place’ of grief ………….

About annamora

hhhhhmmmmm ….. all my works are for sale as RB products, I just really dislike that red button which says ‘buy it’ straight under my work …. so I took it off on most of them by now … but if you’d really like to buy print of any of my work, let me know and I will fix it …….
