mixed media ( acrylic paint, gouache, inks, crayons ) on rice paper on canvas, about 90 × 70 cm …. as a little girl I’ve always wanted to own a horse … it is such an archetypal thing …. as I realize now … horse stands for masculinity - all positive aspects of it ….. I had been reminded of this childhood dream, when there was a girl in my art class who did not want to draw or paint anything else but horses all the time ….. she had a very supportive dad …. and it was sad to hear from him one day, that he had been given only 6 months to live … until the end he still kept supporting his daughters hobby …. and it was almost like a no coincidence that his nick name was ‘Horse’ as his wife told me later on ……
Oh Anna… I’m so happy to see this finished… it’s every bit as wonderful as I thought it would be… even better!! Just gorgeous and the meaning(s) behind it add to it’s beauty……….. : )) xxx
..thank you so much Jenny .. i am glad I did not ruin it and you like how it turned out …. your praise feels so good …. ha ha … yes – I know it is not a very ‘happy ending’ type of story – but hopefully it’s a kind of tribute … and also celebration of girls dreams – they are not to be just dismissed …. so … xxx

thank you Roy … and you are right – it’s not all just ‘sweet pink’ and ‘innocently girly’ …. so there are some hints onto those potential ‘clashes’ which real life always has in store ….. dreams and wishes – Life would not be alive if we did not have them and yet there are so many fates – some dreams we have to claim, others we have to let go off and others still come to us by themselves and in a form we did not foresee ….. oh well ….. :)
