continuing to explore this idea … and it did take me somewhere quite unexpected …. will try again …

acrylic, ink and crayons on draw&wash paper, larger A3 size

I believe arts making creates connection between our inner and outer worlds.
I love the depth, the lightness, the playfulness, the seriousness and the inexpressibly sincere nature of relationships which tend to ‘just happen’ while sharing interests, passions and frustrations about art :)

Check this out Anna sorry best i could find with a short quick search, Hockney did a whole series like this paiting the seasons for over a year. In the end he combined over 50 canvases for a huge painting he hung at the Royal Academy here earlier this year. It was quite incredible because he had to work on each canvas individually then combined them with computer software so he could see the direction he was taking, there was a whole docu on the BBC here about it. If i can make a suggestion id like too please?

  • me and David Hockney … yes good one Josh – LOL …. thanks very much – I can see enough from the image you’ve linked to have an idea … and I do like most of his works always …. he ‘thinks’ through them and that’s what I like about them … so are you going to sponsor me to so that I can do this mine one as large as he did his ?… LOL

  • guess what – I was thinking of you a lot because my friends took me to Minamurra heads last week Thursday ..it was a most beautiful day and we’ve been watching whales for about two hours from there …. I told them about your painting …. and so I am glad I finally saw this place – it is incredibly beautiful you are right :)
    cheers

The squares are like tiles of nature…love the map feature also…:)

  • thank you so much Sarah …. yes .. thinking about the ‘openness’ of the landscape and the ‘boundaries’ we have and all that …. I was also trying to still hold onto the actual likeness of that place ….

seems to be moving to a somewhat darker atmosphere and almost verging hesistantly into the world of Munch (hints here and there)- colors are wonderful

  • you are so perceptive Fred ..thank you for your feedback … i did not think of Munch – but as soon as i read it I realized what you mean :) … thank you so much ..very appreciated :)
