This photo was taken in the Barbican, Plymouth, with a Canon 350D EOS and zoom lens. I liked the stark contrast between the redundant vessel, tyre and ladder, and the leisure craft in the background (also not being used!) . The old boat leans delicately against the wall of a popular restaurant: did it provide the diners with their fresh fish dishes in times gone by? In its day, it must have been its owner’s prize posession, full of promise and potential, like the sleek boats in the back ground. What I like about the image is the detail on the bows below the water level, as well as te reflection of the sunlight above the water line.
