this is lovely makes me think of the irish folk lore of the silkie where seals can come on to land and change into female form

Yes I think there are all sorts of Celtic variants- In Scotland they hide in Rock Pools and mischeiviously splash you.

My Dad has a Joan Baez album[Vol.2]that has a song called Silkie-different spelling,same thing?Or is a Silkie a male ?.One of my Favorite albums actually-great when your feeling depressed,cause it fits the mood.You get it out then play something happier.Wasn’t Dylan in the Mabinogion a Silkie?
