A Beauty All Her Own...

This is my grandma…Frail as can be! All thro my years of growing up whenever we went anywhere she dressed to the hilt.. Rings stacked on each finger…not all fit anymore due to her swollen joints. She still has more drive and heart then alot of us. Head strong to say the least…her favorite saying..”well I knew that!” even if she dident prior to the brainstorm itself…
Today she buried her grandson… my brother… what strength she has…I hope somewhere along the way I have gained an ounce of it….

Anibal. We have a lot of fun, and I love that..but this time I am just going to tell you that I am deeply moved by this image, and trust me when I say, I very much feel the emotion and sorrow that it evokes. It doesn’t matter what age you are, and how long you are together,...the pain is so very real and devastating that it is almost unbearable to pull through. I pray that she and all who suffer such a loss are comforted by the thought of a holy place that welcomes us all as long as we seek it, and then at last our pain will fully subside. With love to her, and to you and your loss, as well. I understand completely what these feelings are. Bless you for sharing this with us. It is a powerful image.

  • Anibal replied

Hank thank you so much …for All your support!!..I enjoy it all!!!....I know you have had your fair share of sorrow and I know just a peice of what you have gone thru…I hope that one day we can see, the benefits of what we grieve right now….Thank you!!!

Bless her heart and yours. When did you take this picture? So sorry to hear about your brother, I had no idea. I haven’t been on here too much recently. I hope and pray your brother did not suffer, and he is now in a beautiful place with our ALMIGHTY ONE, looking down upon you and your loved ones, and watching over you, loving you, and protecting you always~ xxx’s Luv ya T

Such a beautiful and moving image. I’m fascinated with our older generation… in my work I have had the privilege to meet and get to know the young person residing beneath the wrinkles… It astounds me that our society does not place more value on our elderly… afterall… God willing we will all be there one day!! I love the technical aspects of your image, but more than that, it’s the sensitivity with which you have captured your Grandmother on such a sad occasion. My condolences to you and your family…
