That taught me so much?
Would I wipe away the tears,
That helped build me up?
Would I have the nerve?
Would I have the drive?
Would I have the need?

That downward spiral
That awakened the strength
I never knew I had.
That self destructive path
That showed me the support
I never knew existed.
It opened me up.
It made me secure.
It showed me the truth.
If I could do it over,
I wouldn’t.
