Where are you going, my little one, little one?
Where are you going my baby, my own?
Turn around and you’re two, turn around and you’re four,
Turn around and you’re a young man going out of the door. ~ excerpt of lyrics from Turn Around, author unknown
This is a 1979 photograph of my two sons on an autumn hike. It was one of my favorites and was hung in a sunny room causing it to fade into sepia tones. Whenever I looked at this photograph over the years, I always thought of the song, Turn Around, which was recorded at one time by Harry Bellefonte as well as others. Our little schnauzer, my younger son’s dog, can be seen peering back at me on the far right. They all left home years later in exactly this order. Our schnauzer passed away as my youngest son graduated high school. Hiking in autumn was a favorite activity. Great memories!
