I based this watercolor on an ice sculpture from the 2009 Chambersburg, Pa. Ice Fest . Carvings and sculptures of all sizes from 2’ high to sculptures 8’ – 10’ high and larger are displayed at this event. The ice penguin that I portray here stood about 10 feet high. The sculptures appear along the sidewalks and in front of shops as well as around the town square. Days before the event, the sculptors can be watched creating their huge works of art in ice, on location. The event makes a great photo op with ice thrones to sit in, ice trains, etc., as well as wonderful local food and a Chili contest. All events are great for the special grandchild photo!

Lovely work Angie, your colours certainly do give a feeling of ice!!
Thanks so much for the wonderful comment and fave! I am glad you liked the colors. Ice was tricky to do. I like doing glass, but the clarity of ice made it seem more difficult. Perhaps just a mind game though.
