FEATURED IN PEACE LOVE AND TRANQUILITY 10/2/11

Frank Loesser wrote the duet, Baby It’s Cold Outside in 1936 and premiered it with is wife, Lynn Garland, at their Navarro Hotel housewarming party. In 1948 Loesser sold the song to MGM for the 1949 movie, Neptune’s Daughter, much to the dismay of his wife who thought of it as their song. (ref: Wikipedia) I personally love this song and it is one of my favorite holiday tunes. I know it’s a bit early to be thinking of winter and Christmas, but I’m getting in the mood early with chilly weather and the fireplace flickering today. I did this watercolor from a photo of a female cardinal that I took from my window last winter. She was looking up at me in the window as if to say “Baby, it’s cold outside!”

8" by 8" watercolor, Strathmore 140# coldpress, Winsor and Newton watercolors
