FEATURED IN YOUR MAGIC PLACE 1/11/11

The fields of the Gettysburg Battlefield in Pa. USA are beautiful in winter, with split rail fences stretching for long distances across the open spaces. There is a feeling of another time here, especially in the quiet of winter. The battlefield is left as natural as possible, with wild vegetation and weeds, as it would have looked during the time period of the Civil War. I find the rugged look beautiful. I was facing south east, and in the background lies the area of Devil’s Den and Little Round Top. BEAUTIFUL VIEWED LARGE

I am a photographer who loves to paint. Or, I am a painter who loves photography? No matter, they are very compatible! :) I really enjoy working in watercolor, and love the magical qualities that it can give to a work of art! You will see photography, watercolor and acrylic paintings on my bubble. Hope you enjoy! :)

  • Thanks so much for the favorite and great comment! This area is very thought provoking. It has such peace today, though of course its history was anything but peaceful.

I love the colours on this … it really is best viewed large.

  • Thank you so much Tenzil for the favorite and great comment. I am so glad you enjoyed viewing it in the larger format. It is so much more dramatic when seen large.

What a beautiful picture of this place. I have visited Civil War battlegrounds and felt the sadness that still lingers there. Wonderful work.

  • Thank you so much Lori for your insightful comment. I am glad you enjoyed this image! I noted on your profile that your are a veteran. Thank you!!! My son was a Marine. Actually, this battlefield has a sense of peace about it. Truly “hallowed ground” as Lincoln stated.
