Eternal Torment by

Mixed media on canvas board 12″ × 16″

I recently discovered this touching poem Drowning In Shadows written by © Maz 2007 and it really inspired me to create this painting

Drowning in Shadows

Through my tainted heart I cry out for you,
wading through the darkness in search of a face

a face of lost light

Do we try in vain to find our solace?

Perhaps the darkness should serve to caress our pain
ease our fears

Show to us eternal torment in a shadow,
one of which shrouds you from my view.
Give to us the suffering of a thousand sins
so our hearts can rest in peace.

Falling into oblivion, I cry out for you,
the angel from my dreams.

The angel that holds my soul.

Oh this intensely powerful portrait of Torment Angela. I believe you have captured the esence of this beautiful poem. I love that you have painted this portrait in the colours of love and passion. The distortion of the face is done with a loving touch. Heart touching work with a high emotional impact.

  • Thank you so much Anthea for taking the time to give me this valuable and wonderful feedback. I appreciate it my friend x
