A long exposure at twilight gives the rocks at Elgol , Isle of Skye, a touch of mystique.
The mountains in the background are the Black Cuillin. They always remind me of Mordor :)

    Beautiful capture Angie
    You have wetted the appetite
In September we are hiring a VW camper for 12 days to tour the west highlands,
planning to spend 3 or 4 days on skye.
Never been to Skye before……can’t wait

  • You are in for a real treat Mike, whatever the weather. I highly recommend Elgol , Glenbrittle (The Fairy Pools) and the Quiraing….just mind blowing. If your energetic the Old Man of Storr is also a must (haven’t managed it yet myself). If you don’t mind some advice, I would recommend taking the road from Fort William to Mallaig and getting the ferry to Skye stopping at Glenfinnan and the Sands of Morar on the way. You can then leave the Island via the bridge and take in Eilean Donan castle and the 5 sisters of Kintail. may the light be with you! We will be there for a week from Sep 15th :)

really beautiful work! perfect composition. lovely colours / tones/mood
Though I can’t see evidence of it, I presume you used a ND Grad.
I am guessing the water was pretty calm as I have never dared set up so close to the water there myself!

  • Thanks Christopher :) Yes, the water was quite calm and I was standing in it upto my knees (over my wellies) and hadto be driven home with very wet socks and trousers! I used a Lee 0.9 hard grad for the sky.
