Angela Barnett (arwengrace) usually grabs my attention with fascinating magical-style montages. Her more recent work has been landscapes and this one, taken with a Sigma 10-20mm, really caught my eye as well as many of the members. It has exceeded 200 votes of confidence.
So what’s so special? Well for me it’s the amazing depth of colour and atmosphere. Sunsets are always popular, but this takes the glorious ‘ah-factor’ colours of a sunset and adds an incredible ‘wow’ topping of drama. There’s not really anything to lead you around the shot or vie for your attention, just a complete canvas of painterly light with the contrast of the dark monotone snow and the depth and incredibly colourful cloud formations. I bet it looks wonderful printed.”
