Cornish Holy Well
based on Madron Holy Well in South Cornwall. The tradition of hanging offerings of flowers and rags and ribbons is still in practice today amongst Pagans in the UK. This image was inspired by the beauty and fertility of may when the bluebells and Horse Chestnut is in bloom and mayday (Beltane) is the traditional time for well dressings and leaving offerings to the water spirits and fairies.
